About this book
-
I’m Dex Burke, the creator of this book. “Authored” might be too formal a word. My role is to combine accurate trail information, local knowledge, and high-quality photography to showcase some of the best hikes in and around Moab. This book draws on extensive research, exploration, and cross-checking against existing resources to ensure the information is both accurate and useful. One of the challenges of creating a hiking guidebook is that trail conditions, access, and route difficulty can vary considerably depending on weather, seasonal conditions, and individual experience. While trail descriptions, distances, elevation gains, and maps are important, the real strength of this book lies in its large, detailed photographs. They offer a unique perspective on Moab’s incredible landscape, helping hikers visualize their routes, identify landmarks, and better understand the terrain before heading out.
I hope this book inspires you to discover new trails, revisit old favorites, and explore more of the remarkable landscapes surrounding Moab. Most of all, I hope you find it as useful and enjoyable to explore as it was for me to create.
